Finalists of 30 Best bars in Indian cities will be announced by Vikram Achanta led Tulleeho on March 23, Wednesday. Tulleeho (tulleeho.com) is a beverage education, training and consulting firm, working with the beverage and hospitality industry in South and Southeast Asia. “Bar and restaurants culture in India is fast changing,” said Vikram, talking to Excel India Online.in from Delhi.

Vikram, 52, an economics graduate from Delhi University and an MBA from IIM-Calcutta, has been into declaring 30 Best Bars in the country’s leading cities since 2019. Three years ago, he started India’s first national ranking and awards platform to bring the growing bars culture to the forefront. The awards are celebrate bartending and bar crafts talent that is shaping the industry.

Vikram has a partner in this venture Radhakrishna Nair, from media background.

Bar Crafts

“The platform will help our bars gain national and international prominence, showcase their talent and establish bar crafts as established profession,” said Vikram. The 53 shortlisted bars across the country has a fair representation from different cities. New Delhi, Bengaluru lead with 9 and 8 bars, Mumbai and Goa with 7 bars each. The short list is announced.

4 Bars in Hyderabad

Kolkata with 6 bars, Chennai and Hyderabad with 4 bars each,Gurgaon and Pune with 3 bars each respectively.  A total 21 microbreweries make to the top 20 ranking. This 30 Best Bars edition 2021 is partnered by India’s renowned brands – Teachers is the associate sponsor, while Tanqueray, The Singleton, Apreno, Bacardi, Smoke Lab Vokda, Bira 91, Svami, Real Juice etc are in the list.

Besides Best bar, the jury will also vote on six other categories – Best Hotel Bar, Best Restaurant bar, Best Independent bar, Best microbrewery bar, Best cocktail menu and Best Bar design. A special jury of 25 industry professional voted for Best bar team and Best bartender. The awards given based on online public poll on social media, from January 30 to February 15, 2022.

AER, Four Seasons, Mumbai, Asyah 24, Chennai, Bar Treasure, Goa, Bob’s Bar, Bangalore, Cock& Bull, Hyderabad, Cocktails& Dreams Speakeasy, Gurgoan, Elephant, Pune, Fat Pigeon, Hyderabad, Fig& Maple, New Delhi, Terra Mayaa, Guwahati, the GRID, Kolkata, The Library Bar, The Leela Palace, Bengaluru are among the shortlisted for this year’s awards.
