A cute little boy, Lihan, leads us all on a green path, paving the way for a bright future. He planted and watered a sapling on his birthday recently. He, and his parents were responding to a call of Green India Challenge founder and former Rajya Sabha MP J Santosh Kumar – to plant a sapling on every happy occasion, birth days to anniversaries. This single photos shows how people are responding to GIC call for spreading greenery.
Lihan, son of Varun Raj and Nithya, is a resident of Tadagonda village in Boinpally mandal of Rajanna Siricilla district in Telangana. The boy planted a sapling and watered it on the compound of his house. Besides the parents, Harita Sena activist Kamal Goud and others who gathered to greet the boy hailed the gesture and said that the tiny effort would go a long way in spreading the cause of tree plantation among fellow villagers in the area.
Needless to say, Santosh shared his joy on X and commended Lihan and his parents for planting a sapling. “What a beautiful moment to witness! Little Lihan planting a sapling fills my heart with immense joy and hope. The #GreenIndiaChallenge is truly taking root in the hearts of our young generation. Seeing such inspiring acts reminds me that our dream of a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable India is alive and thriving through them,” said Santosh.
“They are the real ambassadors of Mother Nature nurturing life, spreading awareness and inspiring, millions. I am deeply happy and proud to se the Green India spirit flourishing in the next generation. Let’s keep growing a #YoungIndiaGreenIndia! posted Santosh.
Lihan means different things in different languages. But, the one that stuck with me is Defender of the World. Truly, Lihan reflects that meaning, as greenery is the future for not just future, but the current generation too! Happy Birthday Lihan!
