In a pioneering initiative aimed at empowering the youth, “What is My Goal” successfully conducted the first training session of the Under-18 Assembly in Hyderabad. The event marks a significant step towards leadership development of the elected Under-18 leaders who would go on to represent 1.5 Lakh students in the Under-18 world.

Hyderabad’s T-Hub 2.0 on March 27, Wednesday, was the center of a transformative event where the Under-18 Assembly Training unfolded, engaging student MLAs from over 60 schools. This session, the first of its kind, provided a platform for young leaders to learn about democratic processes, leadership, and their roles within the Under-18 Assembly.

Renowned Indian liberal politician and activist, Dr. Jaya Prakash Narayana, led the session, imparting critical insights on combating corruption, maintaining integrity, and understanding democracy in India. His participation underscores the importance of quality leadership education for the youth, as they prepare to take on significant roles in their respective school constituencies.

Preparing  youth for policy making

“With two more training sessions on the horizon before they make their official assembly appearance and begin passing bills, these young leaders are on a fast track to making substantial contributions to their communities,” said Chitralee Sarma, the Under-18 Chief Election Commissioner at WhatIsMyGoal. The initiative not only highlights the importance of early engagement in democratic processes but also sets a new precedent for youth involvement in policy-making.

“The engagement and enthusiasm of the student MLAs during the training session were inspiring. It is a clear indicator of the potential impact these young minds can have on our democracy and society at large,” Dr. Jaya Prakash Narayana commented. This initiative by WhatIsMyGoal serves as a foundational step towards a more inclusive and aware generation of voters and leaders.
