Rama Krishna Sangem

Former BRS Rajya Sabha MP and green campaign leader J Santosh Kumar this Sunday, February 9, welcomed the spring season or Vasanta Ritu, through his weekly photography on social media platform X. The beauty of this week’s photos – of a Purple Sun-bird and a flowery tree of Flame of the Forest, or Modugu chettu in Telugu, signify the combination of flora and fauna in the nature – change of seasons.
Sad enough, we, the humans are not ready for this job. Santosh posted four pics of a beautiful tiny Purple Sun-bird, happily sitting on a branch of Modugu tree, full of resplendent bright orange flowers. The cute bird must be enjoying its nectar from the flowers. Flame of the forest is also called Sacred tree in some part of the country. The flowers of this tree are use in preparing the Holi colours. If you go out and travel any part of Telangana, you can see abundant flowers of this tree.
The tree and its flowers are perfect symbol of the spring season, which officially begins Ugadi, by March end. Similarly, tiny Purple Sun-bird too is a symbol of the summer and the spring. Not more than 4 inches, these birds are known for their nimble moves and shrill voices. They can be seen all over, but mostly in areas with copious vegetation. This is a subtle message for us all that keeping abundant greenery is essential to invite both the lowers and birds, amid us.
Seasons’ message
Santosh always enjoys the backing of good number of fans on the X for his weekend photography, that began three years ago. Around 2,300 views and 150 likes these pics got in two days. Some of the comments hailed his pics are a throwback of childhood memories while others saw in them the beauty of nature. One of them, Heeresh Dubey said this change of seasons also undermines the importance of adjusting to the changes nature nudges us to go for. Wonderful interpretation!
