An Avocados awareness programme was organised by SKLTSHU (Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University)  in collaboration with IG Deccan Exotics, Hyderabad, at College of Horticulture, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad on March 30,  on building a plantation for Scientific Knowledge and Awareness and challenges in Cultivation of Avocado.

The programme was started by University song later by lighting of lamp. The welcome note and inaugural ceremony was given by the Dr. A. Kiran kumar, Director of Research later the introductory speech of avocado plantation given by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. Neeraja Prabhakar started the importance of Avocado fruit and its health benefits. Especially to the pregnant women for better development of ovaries and nutritional supplements.

She also memorized her experience in cultivation of Avocado tree as a fancy the way back 20 years. She also said that she has an opportunity to visit HRS, TKD, Kodaikanal in 2022 and triggered her mined in cultivating a new crop as a research based at Fruit Research Station (FRS), Sangareddy with introducing and verities (Hars, Aelen, TKD-1, Arka Coorg Ravaind Arka Supreme).

The speakers talked on the History and introduction of Avocado into Indian and its Global industry in opportunities. The speakers Explained the current scenario of Indian grown Avocado’s (West Indian Races), according to a press release from the university.
