Senior bureaucrat K Vijayanand, 1992 batch IAS officer, has assumed charge as the new Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh from January 1, 2025. Considered as an expert in energy related public undertakings, he held many positions in the sector including chairman and managing director AP Genco and Transco for about a couple of years till now. As AP now aspires to emerge as a surplus state in power generation through green and traditional fields, his presence as the CS would be valued most.
