Unless we closely observe, we cannot figure out a pair of cute little birds, Gren bee-eaters in bushes. BRS former MP and Green India Challenge founder leader J Santosh Kumar posted four pics of these birds on X this Sunday, December 14. By evening, they got close to a 1,000 views and many likes from the die hard fans of Santosh. Even in this chilly weather of Hyderabad which touched 10 degrees of late, Santosh hasn’t failed to keep his date with #Weekendphotography!

The colour of these pics – red hue with other greenish hues reflects dull winter view of trees around us and mild sun-rays that touch the greenery. But, the little birds are in playful mood enjoying the weather of morning. Good camera work! Looks alike parrot, this Green bee-eater is a commonly sighted bird in our environs. Talking short flights, these cute winged guests often seen in pairs and groups. Considered to be of tropical climate origins, green bee eaters are now aplenty in our areas.

Bee-eaters are a species

As their name suggests, these birds mostly thrive on small insects and bees. They enjoy preying on their food by making circles in the air and spotting like insects or beets. This shows how alert and capable of these birds in finding their food. They are urban households friendly, often enjoying human company, if not exactly, Bird waters say, observing these bee eaters is a delight and it would be an opportunity to capture them in our cameras. Not a bad idea!
