“Mahavatar Narasimha” collects Rs 115 cr in 2 weeks

Made on a modest budget of around Rs 15 crore, this animation movie of Mahavatar Narasimha, made in five languages – Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam – made a whopping Rs 115 crore in just two week and is racing to cross Rs 200 crore mark of gross collections. Interestingly, people are queuing before halls even after two weeks of its release. Began with multiplexes, the movie craze is slowly reaching single theaters too.

Ashwin Kumar’s Mahavatar Narsimha’ has already entering the Rs 100 crore club, and it’s doing so with a steady stride. There is no big hero, star cast, famed crew or cast, but the film struck a chord with audience and drawing crowds at theaters.t

According to the Sacnilk website, the mythological epic, which opened modestly at Rs 1.75 crore on its first day, has seen an impressive growth curve over the last 12 days. With a total collection now touching Rs 99.51 crore across all languages, the film is just shy of a major box office milestone.

 

Suddenly entered the scene

Till the trailer for ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ was unveiled in July, the movie is unknown to may. But the trailer offered a visually stunning and emotionally charged portrayal of a key chapter from Indian mythology. Directed by Ashwin Kumar, the film will be released in 3D across five Indian languages on July 25, 2025.

Set against a mythological backdrop, the narrative revolves around Prahlada, a devout follower of Lord Vishnu, who defies his father, Hiranyakashipu – a powerful atheist blessed with immortality by Lord Brahma. The trailer captures this central conflict, spotlighting Prahlada’s unwavering devotion amidst fierce familial opposition.

The visuals are grand in scale, with powerful imagery showcasing the divine descent of Mahavatar Narsimha, an avatar of Lord Vishnu, who intervenes to protect Prahlada. With an evocative background score and rich production design, the trailer sets the tone for an epic retelling of this legendary tale.

 

Word of mouth publicity

Mahavatar Narsimha’ is produced under the Kleem Productions banner by Shilpaa Dhawan, Kushal Desai and Chaitanya Desai, with Hombale Films presenting the project. The film promises a powerful blend of mythology and cinematic storytelling.

Adding to the excitement, the makers also announced the launch of the Mahavatar Cinematic Universe, hinting at a larger vision that could expand the narrative beyond this initial chapter.

The official release calendar includes ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ in 2025, followed by ‘Mahavatar Parshuram’ (2027), ‘Mahavatar Raghunandan’ (2029), ‘Mahavatar Dhawkadhesh’ (2031), ‘Mahavatar Gokulananda’ (2033), ‘Mahavatar Kalki Part 1’ (2035), and ‘Mahavatar Kalki Part 2’ (2037). Makers of this movie are scaling up their expectations and estimates based on its huge success.
