BRS Rajya Sabha MP J Santosh Kumar planted a Jammi tree on the premises of Raja Shyamala Devi temple at Kokapet on the outskirts of Hyderabad on October 29, Sunday. This Raja Shyamala Devi temple, the most sacred places of worship, is one of the  Dasha Maha Vidya Swaroopams, is being built by the famous Sr Sharada Peetham, based out of Visakhapatnam.

“The temple of Raja Shyamala Devi, coming under the aegis of Sri Swaroopanandendra Saraswathi Swamy varu. This will be the first of its kind in Telangana after Vizag. I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to plant a Jammi sapling on the temple premises,” Santosh posted on X. The MP also posted video clips of  his visit to the temple on the occasion. As many as 2,421 views this post got on X, by evening 6 pm.

Santosh visit to the temple and planting of sapling is significant for two reasons. One, Raja Shyamala Devi, known to be a Goddess of well-being of one and all, especially for good governance, is visited by CM KCR at Visakhapatnam some years ago. KCR himself performed Raja Shyamala Yagam for the well being of people of Telangana. Secondly, the Jammi sapling planted by MP Santosh is auspicious on the occasion of Dasara in Telangana. People worship the tree.
