NSL’s Integrd Steateel Plant hits a record-breaking 2 million tonnes Hot Metal Production Mark Continuing its march towards achieving rated capacity, NSL’s integrated steel plant at Nagarnar reached a major milestone on October 28, Tuesday, producing over 2 million tonnes of hot metal. NSL Steel is a leading central public sector giant in the country.
This achievement was further bolstered by the NSL’s blast furnace record-breaking daily output of 7268 tonnes. On this historic day, Amitava Mukherjee, CMD (Additional Charge), congratulated Team NSL for this exemplary performance and expressed confidence in the company’s future accomplishments and said, “At NSL, we are steadfast in our commitment to produce exceptional-quality steel that meets the highest global standards, empowering the nation’s infrastructure ambitions”, said a press release.
On achieving this milestone Vishwanath Suresh, Director (Commercial) and Vinay Kumar Director (Technical) & Director (Personnel, Addl Charge) congratulated team NSL for their outstanding performance and sheer dedication.
On the occasion, K Praveen Kumar, Executive Director & Head, NSL Steel Plant, Nagarnar, said “We’ve successfully ramped up daily hot metal production to 7000 tonnes, aligning with our planned protocol. Our focus now shifts to stabilizing output and progressing towards optimal capacity utilization, critical for achieving economies of scale and financial break-even.”
2nd million tonnes in just 204 days
NSL’s impressive production pace continues, building on its record achievement of producing the first million tonnes of hot metal in 226 days. The company achieved the second million tonnes in 204 days, despite recent external impediments. This underscores NSL’s operational efficiency and determination.
The Ma Danteshwari blast furnace at NSL’s Nagarnar plant boasts an effective volume of 4506 cubic metres and is structured to produce 9500 tonnes of hot metal per day. Consistent with industry protocols, NSL is gradually scaling up production, matching increased HR Coils output, catering to robust market demand fueled by its superior quality.
