Sudhakar Gande, Tech Entrepreneur and senior BJP leader called for imparting world class skills to a large number of youth in India to meet the huge demand for jobs in manufacturing 1ector at the global level. “Major global companies are ready to provide employment opportunities to up-skilled youth in the manufacturing and services fields and we must seize the opportunity,” he said.
Gande was speaking at a day long Mega Job Mela organised by the Sudhakar Gande Foundation (SGF) along with Vasavi Club International and Charlapali Industries Association, Charlapalli, Hyderabad, on October 26, Saturday. The Job Mela drew good response from the surrounding areas of youth. Former MLC and senior BJP leader N Ramachander Rao was at the inaugural and Malkajgiri BJP MP Etela Rajender was the chief guest in the evening.
Around 1,000 youth registered for the jobs and 60 of them were given offer letters immediately by 73 companies. And another 240 will be given offer letters soon. Local polytechnic college and other institutions participated in the event. Vasavi Clubs International was represented by Srinivas Pachipulusu and Charlapalli Industries Association was represented by Dr K Govinda Reddy at the Mega Job Mela.
“Potential for $1 billion job economy”
Speaking on the occasion, Sudhakar Gande said that there was a huge job market for Indian youth, if they are properly skilled at the international standards. “Companies like Boeing and Airbus are looking for trained blue collar workforce and they are ready to recruit. With basic English knowledge, Indian youth are well placed to grab the opportunity, provided they are technically skilled,” said Gande.
He said that SGF would take up similar Job Melas all over Telangana in the first phase and outside later to tap the job market for the local youth in manufacturing and allied areas. There is a chance for recruiting around 30,000 blue collar workforce in the next five years at the global level. The SGF would liaison with the central and state governments for necessary steps to ensure employment to the local youth, he said.
Gande said that there was a need to train both the teachers and students of our polytechnic and other industrial training institutes to meet the global companies requirements. “We need to update our syllabus of polytechnic colleges so as to meet the standards of global firms which are looking for quality blue collar workforce. Just as we train and given visas to IT sector employees, we should also take care of our blue collar workforce,” said Sudhakar Gande.
