Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University (SKL TSHU) Vice Chancellor Dr. Danda Raji Reddy said that a program called “Horticulture to every Household” will be launched soon to make horticultural crops and products available to every household in the state. He attended the program organized at the university headquarters on the occasion of completion of one year term and addressed the gathering as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor said that a special mechanism is being created to apply artificial intelligence for better development in the horticultural sector. He said that research incubation centers with modern features and Startups are being set up for students. He announced that a “JRF cum Competitive Cell” is being set up to improve the skills of students in competitive exams. He said that a Center of Excellence will be set up soon for research on genome editing and tissue culture, which have many benefits, said a press release.
“Students should show interest in innovations in research. Research papers should be published in reputed journals so that the results can be made available to farmers from time to time. Students should also become the pillars of the future of the university,” the Vice Chancellor called. Dr. Raji Reddy said that students are being provided opportunities to work with renowned research institutions in the country to undertake more in-depth research at the student level.
Chronicle of progress
University Dean Dr J Cheena reported on the achievements achieved in the field of research, teaching and extension under the leadership of the Vice Chancellor in the past year. On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor released the “Chronicle of Progress” and “Album” prepared on the achievements of the university during the year.
