CM KCR: Telangana No 1 in Paddy production

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on June 19, Monday said that Telangana has succeeded in achieving the top slot in the paddy production with the concerted efforts of the state government. Addressing a massive public meeting arranged in connection with the Harithotsav in Thummalur village in Maheshwaram mandal of Ranga Reddy district.

CM KCR participated in his pet scheme Telangana Ku Harita Haaram on Monday, as part of 21 days programmes of Telangana Dashabdi Utsavalu (Decennial of Telangana formation) from June 2 to 22. 

CM KCR said that earlier Telangana was in 17th position in paddy production in India. Now, with the construction of engineering marvel Kaleshwaram project, Telangana has become seed bowl of the country. The project certainly proved a boon for the public and it helped the agriculture sector on a large scale.

The project of Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme is constructed on Godavari basin and unlike the Krishna river the Godavari has got no interstate water disputes surrounding, he said. Asserting the state was inching towards a definite progress in all spheres the chief minister said the Telangana is first in every field and in the provision of basic amenities.

Telangana State stands in top position with regard to providing drinking water to every household, per capita income and per capita power utilization. Agriculture sector in the state is getting accolades from other states. Continous irrigated water supply and interrupted power has paved the way for progress, according to a media release from Information & Public Relations department’s special commissioner.

 

Green Cover up by 7.7 per cent” 

The chief minister was speaking about various achievements of the state and asserted that the green coverage has increased by 7.7 percentage over the past few years. The state is making concerted efforts in the fruit sapling coverage and this year about Rs. 100 crore was allocated for the fruit plantation expansion drive.

The chief minister has praised the official machinery for their active involvement in making the state more green. The Chief Minister has sanctioned an amount of Rs. 50 crores for taking various developmental activities in badangpet municipality of Ranga Reddy district. In the past there was need for oxygen plant in Indira park but noew planting trees under Telangana Ku Harita Haaram has made the need irrelevant.

Earlier the Chief Minister inspected forest block in Thummaloor village and planted plants in Thummaloor forest block. Ministers Sabita Reddy and Indrakaran Reddy also spoke on the occasion. Chief secretary Santhi Kumari, IAS,  MP Ranjith Reddy, MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy and MLAs representing Rangareddy and Vikarabad District Collector S Harish were present in the meeting.
