One time financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh per family among poor Muslims is another welfare measure that came out of the government on July 23, Sunday. Increasing hostel and mess charges of students at different levels is a major move on the part of CM KCR to address long pending demands from youth of educational field. As per the orders issued, the monthly mess and diet charges of students from 3- 7th class will go up from Rs 950 to Rs 1,200.

From 8th to 10th class students’ mess charges will be increased from Rs 1,100 per month to Rs 1,400, the diet bill of those studying from 11th standard to post-graduation will be hiked from the present Rs 1,500 per month to Rs 1,875.  This hike will benefit around 9 students studying in hostels and residential facilities in the State.
