Rama Krishna Sangem
BRS former Rajya Sabha MP J Santosh Kumar continued his Sunday photography, #HappySunday, on April 7, even after ending of his membership in the Upper House. Santosh’s six years RS membership ended on April 2. This Sunday he clicked a cute Indian White Eye bird sitting on a red flowered tree branch and posted four pics of it on X, at 9 am.
By evening, as usual, the post got 3,700 views, 108 likes and 26 reposts. This shows the undimmed support Santosh’ followers show in this drive of Weekend Photography which he started a couple of years ago. This drive is part of the former MP’s Green India Challenge (GIC) launched close to seven years ago. His photos of birds and other wildlife posted on social media have evoked good response from people.
The appreciable thing is Santosh’s resolve to continue his activities at GIC, irrespective of his MP post. In a message to Excel India last week, he said that he would continue his Green India mission in future too. These days we see very few politicians who are committed to environmental causes. Having developed a vast network as the GIC leader in the last six years, Santosh can a do a lot on this front in the coming days.
Indian White Eye
Indian white eye or oriental white eye bird is popular in open woodlands of Indian subcontinent. These cute, colourful small birds are call so, due to white rings around their eyes. Some their subspecies have some variations in their looks. These birds generally move in flocks and take care in breeding and hatching eggs. As these birds thrive on flowers and nectar, they are useful in pollination and ecology preservation.
In a photo posted above, we can watch a bird feeding on a red flower. Good camera work!
