Haldiram’s is actively expanding its footprint in the US market as a core part of its global strategy, leveraging recent investments and an existing partnership with Amazon. The US is a primary focus area for Haldiram’s global expansion, driven by growing demand for Indian cuisine and snacks in the region.

US-Based Investor: US-based fund Alpha Wave Global acquired a minority stake in Haldiram Snacks Food as part of a recent investment round, which is expected to help the company’s international growth plans. E-commerce Partnership: The company has a long-standing agreement with e-commerce giant Amazon to sell its delicacies, which has been instrumental in making its products available to a wider audience in the US market.

Jimmy John’s with 2,600 restaurants in America

Founded in 1983, Jimmy John’s is a sandwich and wrap chain that operates more than 2,600 restaurants in the United States, Canada, South Korea, and the UAE. It is the largest owned delivery sandwich brand in the US, reporting total system sales of $2.6 billion, as per company data.

Inspire Brands, which owns Jimmy John’s, was founded in 2018 and manages a global portfolio that includes Arby’s, Buffalo Wild Wings, Sonic, Dunkin’, and Baskin-Robbins. The group reported $32.6 billion in global system sales and a footprint of 33,000 restaurants across four markets as of 2024. Dunkin’ operates in India through a franchise agreement with Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd (JFL), while Baskin-Robbins runs under the Graviss Group.

The expansion plan comes as Haldiram’s consolidates its business structure. In April 2025, the company merged its Delhi and Nagpur FMCG operations to form a single entity, Haldiram Snacks Food Pvt Ltd, viewed as a strategic step towards a potential public listing.

Important factors for Haldiram’s

Quality Control Improvements: After facing a temporary ban from exporting to the US in the 1990s due to quality concerns, Haldiram’s significantly revamped its manufacturing processes and invested in international-grade quality control, enabling its successful re-entry and expansion into over 80 countries, including the US.

QSR Expansion in India: In a related but separate development, Haldiram’s is in talks with US-based Inspire Brands for an exclusive franchise partnership to introduce the American sandwich chain Jimmy John’s in India, further highlighting its engagement with US companies.

These initiatives demonstrate Haldiram’s commitment to growing its presence in the American market, both through product exports and potential future partnerships.
