Former Telangana IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao (KTR) has mistakenly mentioned an old news on his X post on the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) vis-a vis Telangana’s poor show, to take a swipe at the Revanth Reddy government. But, on the other hand, he became a target of ridicule as the rankings were of 2022, when the KCR government was in power in Telangana.

The rankings announced by the union commerce minister Piyush Goyal put Telangana at the bottom of a list of states and UTs. Responding to a news report on this, appeared in a newspaper, KTR lashed out at the Congress government in Telangana saying that how Telangana’s rank had fallen from the once top position to the bottom level now. He attributed it to the inefficiency of the Revanth government.

However, as the rankings were of 2 year old, the present government’s spokesmen launched a counter attack on KTR, as he was the IT and industries minister during the previous BRS regime. “These ranking are for year 2022. Ranking for 2024 won’ t come before this year is over. Who was the CM in 2022? Who was industry minister? Why such bad performance?” said Sriram Karri @oratorgreat, in an X post.

“KTR, BRS, SM says #Telangana business rankings slow down in 2022 – @Revanth was in opposition, you were running #government, thanks for telling the whole world the story,” said Karri. director media and communication, with the  Telangana government. EoDB rankings are part of the BRAP – Business Reforms Action Plan – of the department for promotion of industry and internal trade (DPIIT) at the Centre, to boost business ecosystem in the country.
