“PM Modi reforming Indian economy”: Sudhakar Gande

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s economic policies are taking India in the right direction. These reforms are part of the developments happened over the last decade in India under the leadership of our prime minister .Narendra Modi including building world class digital infrastructure, introducing path breaking financial reforms,” said leading investment banker and senior BJP leader Sudhakar Gande at Brussels on September 11, Wednesday.

Gande who was speaking as chief guest at a business conference in Brussels underlined the significance of reforms like implementation of GST , banking reaching masses ( over 60 crore bank accounts in India ), healthcare reaching the poorest, building new airports , modernization of Railways including introducing Vande Bharat trains et;. Gande told the elite gathering that economic growth is going hand in hand with social cohesion and prosperity of people.

Sudhakar Gade also told the European business leaders the historical connection between EU and India for over 1500 years both in cultural and business aspects, growth achieved in EU – India trade in last decade and speedy closure EU -India FTA (Free Trade Agreement)  etc. He invited a delegation from European businesses to visit India and they readily agreed in principle for the visit and they said they will plan a visit sometime in  2025.

 

Talks with business leaders

Gande held talks with several EU business leaders like Rudy Aemoudt , Chief Economist of Belgium and Board member of Europe – India Chamber of Commerce. The meeting was attended by around 30 participant’s  including  Entrepreneur’s , Bureaucrats and Diplomats. Entrepreneurs attended like Hans Kluwer (well known Tech Entrepreneur in Belgium ) , George Van Cauwenberg ( a highly respected businessman in Belgium )etc.

The meeting was focused on reviewing current Europe – India businesses and how to improve the trade between these two regions and also issues relating Europe India FTA. The participants concurred on the scope and potential of trade and commerce between Indian and EU.

The conference was hosted by the Europe India chamber of commerce ( EICC ). at was Foundation Frison Horta at 37 , Rue Labeau 1000 , Brussels. The function was presided over by Rudy Aernoudt , Chief Economist of Belgium and Professor of Finance at Ghent University, Belgium and hosted by Nupur Tron , Cultural head for Philanthropy and business development, EICC. She is also founder of Foundation Frison Horta ( private Museum ), the venue for the event.

As part of the programme, there was also a Piano recital by a well known singer Ms.Paulous D’amour. I am sharing some of the photographs relating to the event. Gande would be visiting Athens next week to participate in another business conference where he will showcase the rapid economic growth that is going on in India under the leadership of Modi government.
