Lovely parrot on Santosh’s lens on a rainy Sunday

Parrot

Former Rajya Sabha MP J Santosh continued his pet hobby #Weeklydoseofphotography even on a rainy Sunday, September 1. This morning he posted on X four pics of a beautiful parrot lost in the green cover of a tree, leisurely enjoying its food. Most of us curse this rain that is lashing at for two days, but only a few can enjoy its lusty glory and the abundance its brings along.

Santosh posted these pics at 9.45 am, but within no time got 1,370 views and 102 likes. When there are copious rains, tree are the first ones rejoice. Parrot, closer to us culturally, is the first bird to make it most. In these pics too, this parrot is enjoying its food. Santosh clicked it from different angles, and the cutest one is its upside down one. Birds have natural ability to hang on trees from any angle.

Parrot or Parakeet?

Some say, the bird featured here is a parakeet. Though parakeet is part of parrot family, there some differences – while parrots are of large bodies, parakeets are medium or small sized. However, both have green bodies and red noses- though some of parakeets have a variety of colours. Parrots can mimic human sounds while most parakeets cannot. They are mostly seen in India, but can be found in other parts of the world with some differences.
