Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation, Maryland, the US, welcomed entrepreneurs from India to set up their ventures in their country. “Montgomery, Maryland is a home for people across the world and it is the right place and time to invest over here,” said Marc Elrich,Montgomery County MD and executive.
Marc was addressing at US India SME Council‘s annual Incredible Inc 50 awards Indian leg event at Westin MindSpace Hotel, at Madhapur in Hyderabad on October 30, Monday evening. Marc, along with a 20 member delegation came to India to sign up MoUs with Indian entrepreneurs and SME CEOs. As many as 25 SME CEOs and social entrepreneurs were presented with Incredible Inc awards.
Remaining 25 were given awards in the US at an event held in Washington DC on August 10. These awardees are CEOs and leaders of businesses run by small and medium entrepreneurs, minorities and women. US India SME Council Chairman Sudhakar Gande, CEO Elisha Pulivarti and programme director Srihari Kotela led the Monday programme all through.
“Right time to invest in India”
Sudhakar Gande, speaking on the occasion told the US investors to come to India as this is the best time. “India is now passing through a business friendly atmosphere and reforms that are helpful to investors. You can explore opportunities here as the country is abundant with talented youth and natural resources and huge market for business growth,” said Sudhakar Gande.
Gande also mentioned about the business ecosystem in Hyderabad and Telangana for the last few years. IT, electronics , pharmaceutical and logistical sectors have been expanding like never before, said Gande, who leads a clutch of IT and other businesses. Srihari Kotela asked Indian entrepreneurs to explore business opportunities in the US, especially in Maryland.
Elisha Pulivarti said the US India SME Council has been pioneering a series of activities to promote trade and business between India and the US. “As our two countries are natural allies and partners in long term growth and prosperity, it is our duty to encourage bilateral trade and commerce to flourish,” said Elisha. US India SME Council too assists Indian entrepreneurs to set up their businesses in America.
As many as eight MoUs were signed on the occasion – three with Montgomery Corporation and five with the US India SME Council, to expand the existing businesses of SMEs. The gala evening was marked by presentation of awards to 25 CEOs of different businesses and social entrepreneurs. Mahesh Bigala, Telangana’s Global NRI business wing in charge made an appeal to US investors to come to Hyderabad and Telangana.
