Rama Krishna Sangem
BRS Rajya Sabha MP J Santosh Kumar continuing his passion for nature posted pictures of small birds as part of his Weekly dose #Photography on May 21, Sunday. He tweeted four different birds, from mynas to sparrows to woodpeckers. The MP has been posting his nature photos for the last few months to generate awareness among people on our environments.
Santosh is the founder chairman of Green India Challenge (GIC) to promote greenery in Telangana as well as across the country for the last five plus years. Thousands of youth, and celebrities and persons of all walks of life have planted saplings on special occasions in their life as part of GIC. His green mission has become so popular in India that every week he gets tagged by many posts of sapling plantations.
For the last few months, Santosh has been posting photos of birds of all kinds. Most of them are seen in and around our Hyderabad city and Telangana. We at Excel India come to know that students are collecting photos posted by Santosh and creating albums. That’s good and it is the duty of teachers and parents to encourage youth to show interest in nature and wildlife.’
Birds are vital to our nature
The birds may be small in size, but their impact on our nature and environment is big. Birds are vertebrates like us like humans, with bones and skeleton. Plus they have wings, beak that help them fly, though some of their species cannot. They are important to our environment as they are fed on insects and help pollination, vital for greenery growth. We must tell our kids to know more about our winged neighbors. That can a be a summer assignment.
