Thanks to GIC’s efforts over the years, youth have made it a point to plant a sapling on their birthdays, marriage anniversaries and even on college freshers’s days.
“Hope 2022 has been the year o success and happiness for all of you. At the dawn on the first day of 2023, @GreenIndiaChallenge urge you to make our planet greener by planting a tree. He captures the pic of sparrow, endangered bird
Santosh has been posting in social media a photo of nature every Sunday, as part of his weekly dose of photography. This Sunday, on January 1, Sunday, the young MP captured the pic of a kind of sparrow through his Nikon 850 camera. This tiny bird, with 25 subspecies, is an endangered species over the years. Shrinking tree cover in the city and ever expanding concrete jungle is the main reason for their rapid extinction.

Previous Sunday, December 25, Christmas day too he posted another tiny bird – cuckoo like brewer’s blackbird on his camera. This too is an endangered bird, according to an ornithologist who follows Santhosh’s Sunday pictures. “It is good that MP Santhosh has been clicking commonly sighted birds around us. But, the point is most of them are in danger zone, let his pics create awareness among people,” said a zoology professor from Osmania University.
