BRS former MP J Santosh Kumar this Sunday, May 5, captured in his camera a Purple Sunbird and two other birds as part of his weekly photography. The Green India Challenge founder has been posting on X pics of wildlife, mainly birds to underscore the importance of environment and ecology. Posted at 9 am, these pics got 2,700 views and 114 likes and 23 reposts, showing his regular fan base.

Besides this cute sunbird, Santosh also posted pics of a spotted billed duck in water and an oriole, as pointed out by a commentator, Heeresh Dubey. The pics are lovely, as they have been captured in their natural surroundings. The sunbird just above a flower, ready to sip out nectar is superb. One must see these birds in their natural habitats to appreciate their real beauty.

Interestingly, all these birds are available in and around our Hyderabad and parts of Telangana. Summer is the season for of breeding for most of our winged guests. Bird watchers of Hyderabad say, the behaviour and movement of birds will be different in this breeding season. Besides looking for food, they also look for ideal places to lay their eggs and hatch them. Quite interesting!
