Space Kidz India (SKI), Chennai created “Young Scientist Program” in  2013 where students were encouraged to participate in what interests them to connect and collaborate with others into new discoveries.

Young Scientist India’ is the flagship event of Space Kidz India. As you know, YSI is one of the most prestigious science challenges in India that encourages high school students to showcase their innovative ideas and explore their creativity.

This year, the Grand Finale was held on May 3rd and 4th, 2023, at the Russian Cultural Centre in Chennai. The event featured the finalists' innovative projects from different categories, including Space Science, App Development, Electronics, and Robotics.

The aim of the event is to help spread the importance of science education among young people.The finalists will be presented their projects on May 3rd and 4th, and the judging took place at the Russian Cultural Centre.

On May 3, the evaluation for Space Science and App Development Category students place, while the evaluation for Electronics and Robotics Category students and the Grand Finale took place on May 4th. The display of experiments and the judging took place in the presentation halls on the ground floor.

The event promised to be a spectacular display of innovation and creativity, with finalists presenting their groundbreaking ideas. We are honored to have had distinguished dignitaries in attendance, including Chief Guest Gingee K  Masthan, Minister of Minorities Welfare,Wakf Board, and Non-Resident Tamil Welfare, Refugees & Evacuees, Tamilnadu Government.

The esteemed Guest of Honors includes Maj. Gen. M. Indrabalan – Chief of Staff The Dakshin Bharath Headquarters Area, Southern Command, Chennai, Gennadii Rogalev – Vice  Consul and Director of the Russian Center of Science and Culture, Saravanan Viswanathan – Vice President of Hexaware.

We were privileged to welcome our special guests, Dr Saranya Jayakumar, an Educational Psychologist, and Dr Md Nayeemur Rahman, Vice Chairman of Tamilnadu State Urdu Academy, to grace the occasion w SKI created The “Young Scientist Program” in the year 2013 where students were encouraged to participate in what interests them to connect and collaborate with others into new discoveries”.
