“Sportsmanship is the first step to success,” said Telangana State Horticultural University Vice Chancellor Dr. B. Neeraja Prabhakar.
Dr. B. Neeraja Prabhakar, Vice-Chancellor of Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University said that physical fitness is necessary for mental stability to withstand difficult situations and achieve success. Students are asked to practice adversity intelligence.
The 3rd Inter-College Games, Sports, Cultural and Literary Competition meet organized by Post Graduate Institute of Horticultural Sciences and Forestry College and Research Institute under the auspices of Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University, Mulugu, was inaugurated as the chief guest Dr. (Smt.). B. Neeraja Prabhakar. Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr. Neeraja Prabhakar called upon the students to increase their physical fitness to achieve success in their studies, saying that mental and physical health are linked with physical fitness.
She said that winning in competitions is natural and students should only take the spirit of sportsmanship in it. That is why we are giving equal priority to sports and games competitions in the university along with studies, said the Vice Chancellor, according to a press release from the university.
3 day sports events
The competition started on March 15 and will continue for three days till March 17. Students of Post Graduate Institute of Horticultural Sciences and Forestry College in Mulugu along with students of College of Horticulture, Rajendranagar in Hyderabad, Mojerla in Wanaparthy district and Malyal Horticultural College in Mahbubad district are participating in these competitions. Competitions will be held in 9 sports, 15 sports, 18 cultural and literary events.
The torch relay organized on the occasion of the opening ceremony of the competition, the poturajula game conducted by the students of Horticultural College and the bathukamma performed by the students impressed the spectators.
In the program, the Registrar of Horticultural University, Dr. A. Bhagwan, Dean of Horticulture Dr. M. Rajasekhar, Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. D. A. Venkateshwarlu, Associate Dean of Forest College and Research Institute, Associate Deans of Horticultural Colleges, Dr. P. Prashanth, Dr. J. Cheena, Dr. P. Saidaiah, professors, students and faculty participated in the inaugural session
