Sudhakar Gande gets “Indiana Ratna”

Sudhakar Gande, founder chairman of US-India SME Council, has been awarded Indiana Ratna (Jewel of India) at a glittering function held at Indianapolis, the US, on August 12, marking the 75th Indian Independence Day. Sudhkar, a leading businessman and investor, also heads FICCI (Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry) panel on defence and aerospace.

The award was given by Indiana India Business Council to Sudhakar in recognition of his services to business promotion  between both the countries. Former Indiana commerce secretary and Ambassador of Global Relations at Butler University James A Schellinger too was among the total 11 recipients of the prestigious award. The awards presentation was held on  the fourth annual gala at Indian Roof Ballroom in Downtown, Indianapolis.

Raju Chintala, Sumeeta Bhatia, kS SIngh, Bharat Gali, Javed Khan, Bharat Patel, Sravan Pathrala, Dr Ajay Ponugoti, Rupal Thakker Thanawala, Ramu Chintala and Ajay Sarin are the others who got the honour. Indiana senator Todd Young, Indiana attorney general Todd Rokita, Indiana Republican nominee for Secretary of State Diego Morales and several other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

Sudhakar Gande spoke at the event and thanked the organisers for selecting him for the honour. Sudhakar was also given the President’s Lifetime achievement award through the hands of Congressman JimClyburn, House majority whip in Washington DC in June.  A letter signed by US President Joe Biden was given to Sudhakar on the occasion, marking his services to India-US businesses.

Sudhakar Gande, based out of Bangalore, is a leading businessman with exposure to different fields. He is the CEO of Jupiter Capital Private Limited, Co-chairman of FICCI’s defence and aerospace committee, heads a task force at FICCI and a board member of 10 companies. Currently, Sudkhar Gande is focusing on promoting SMEs (small and medium enterprises) from India and the US.

US India SME Council CEO Elisha Pulivarty expressed happiness over Sudhakar Gande being given Indiana Ratna award and the lifetime achievement award from the US President. “Sudhakar is an active member of our SME Council and works hard to promote the business interests of our members and outside too,” said Elisha talking on phone to to Excel India. Sudhakar Gande too thanked everyone for the recognition.
