Turkiye Consul General in Hyderabad Orhan Yalman Okan sees a great scope for promoting ties between the two countries. Okan takes care of consulate requirements for Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Telangana in India. He hailed the cultural richness of Hyderabad in particular and India in general as far as fostering ties between India and Turkiye. The relations  between both the countries date back to around a millennia.

He held a meeting with Mohammad Shamsuddin, editor of Snaps India and promoter of Sports Village Multisport in Hyderabad on December 11, to bolster collaboration between India and Turkey in various domains. Orhan also had a chat with Excel India chief editor Rama Krishna Sangem on December 12, Thursday at the consulate office in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad and shared his thoughts about the historic ties between India and Turkiye.  

The discussion emphasized support for business communities, educational programs, cultural exchanges, student exchange initiatives, and advancements in science and technology. Highlighting the friendly relations between the two nations, the Indo-Türkiye Friendship Association (ITFA) continues its commitment to enhancing diplomatic, cultural, and economic ties.

In Hyderabad, the Turkish Consulate hosted a vibrant cultural exchange, featuring an Indian food festival in Turkey and a Turkish food festival in Hyderabad. Mohammad Shamsuddin, recognized for his groundbreaking work with Snaps India, is set to promote these initiatives, further strengthening the bond between the two countries.

These efforts aim to deepen mutual understanding and collaboration, fostering a robust partnership between India and Turkey. Snaps India is a 50 year old photo news agency launched by MA Rahim and well known for pioneering news photography in the combined state of Andhra Pradesh and now in Telangana. Similarly, Excel India, a national level news magazine from Hyderabad was committed to promote excellence in different fields and particularly strengthen ties between Turkiye and India.
