Green India Challenge founder leader and former BRS Rajya Sabha MP J Santosh Kumar on the occasion of Wold Environment Day, June 5, called each person to plant at least three saplings and challenge others to do the same. He, on his part, planted three saplings at a farm and challenged three others – @KTRBRS, @KChruTweets and @FPayeng ji to the join the mission to spread the green cover on the planet, particularly in Telangana.
Santosh’s posts on X on June 5, Thursday morning got 1,745 views and many likes within no time. “It’s a small step, but every plant matters,” he said. The former MP has launched GIC seven years ago and challenged many people to join the green drive, which is apolitical and above partisan mission. Not only that, he started #WeekendPhotography and posted photos of wildlife on X, spreading awareness among birds and nature among people.
Sharing plant storeis
In an earlier post on X, Santosh called upon people to share their sapling planting stories on social media. “Share your planting stories, tag your friends, and challenge them to do the same! Togetehr, as #HaritaSena, we can create a wave of change for future generations,” said he. By taking this small step, you’re making a huge impact towards a brighter, greener tomorrow. Let’s inspire others on this journey to protect and nurture our planet, said Santosh.
We cannot exactly measure the impact of social campaigns like Green India Challenge, but definitely Santosh, through his drive over the years, has been able to encourage many to take up tree planting as part of their lifestyle. The World Environment Day is just an occasion for people like Santosh, to strive for their cause!
