Carrying forward her husband Puneeth’s enduring commitment to nature and public service, Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar has joined the Green India Challenge, a noble initiative founded by J. Santosh Kumar, former Rajya Sabha MP and BRS leader to promote sustainability and environmental conservation, on the occasion of the 77th Independence Day celebrations, January 26, Monday. GIC senior functionaries Raghava and others were present on the occasion.
Her participation reflects a deep sense of responsibility toward preserving the environment for future generations and serves as an inspiration for collective action toward ecological balance, said a press release from Green India Challenge.

The Green India Challenge (GIC) continues to encourage and motivate citizens across the country to contribute meaningfully to building a greener and more sustainable India. The organisation has conducted several environmental friendly and greenery activities across the country in the last few years.
Significantly, this event happened a day before Santosh appeared before a SIT probe in Hyderabad regarding a case under investigation. This is an indication of popularity of GIC in promoting the cause of greenery not just in Telangana, but across the neighbouring states.
Santosh and his team at GIC are fully committed to spreading the cause of environmental protection and sustainable growth. Santosh has been posting his #WeekendPhotography of birds and nature every Sunday to promote awareness among youth and public. A large number of people are celebrating many happy occasions in their life by planting saplings. Interestingly, even ordinary people too celebrate their birthdays by planting a tree and post them on social media to encourage others, inspired by Santosh and his GIC.
