build3, the go-to ecosystem to build impact startups (startups which are for profit AND purpose), September 25 announced a strategic collaboration with impact entrepreneur Gaurav Singh to introduce the inaugural cohort of its virtual Impact Startup Academy. The 5-week cohort-based online course will begin on October 7 and aims to guide over 100 potential impact founders to build startups for profit AND purpose, at a discounted cost of INR 990.

The objective of the course is to help founders solve problems in the world in a financially sustainable way. The course will help the next generation of impact founders to formulate unique strategies and business models that directly translate into financial stability. Registrations for the course are currently open and can be done from build3’s (https://www.impactstartupacademy.com/) till October 6.

The course has been designed to empower early-stage impact founders, aspiring impact entrepreneurs and individuals looking to make meaningful contributions to an impact startup, said a press release.

Like minded community

Gaurav Singh, impact entrepreneur and co-creator of the Impact Startup Academy, said “Our objective is to create a course that offers comprehensive knowledge that individuals require to create a world changing impact startup, share inspirational examples to help them aspire, persevere and introduce them to a community of like-minded builders to collaborate with and lean on. We hope that the Impact Startup Academy will assist participants in becoming a more confident impact founder, ensuring profitability and simultaneously prioritising purpose. W

The Impact Startup Academy is a result of a strategic collaboration between build3 and Mr. Gaurav Singh, an Ashoka & Echoing Green fellowship awardee. The virtual course will equip individuals with the necessary knowledge and inspiration to start, while also providing the opportunity to meet like-minded entrepreneurs. Upon course completion, build3 will provide participants with a certificate, however, eligible participants may also opt for a UGC-recognised certificate from Srishti Manipal Institute (a constituent of MAHE, Manipal).

The ISA will feature hour-long pre-recorded video lessons and half an hour of group discussions with participants on Monday and Thursday at 6 pm IST. Following each session, the ISA will offer a curated set of bonus resources including articles, videos, podcasts and books to interested participants. The learning process will include a comprehensive understanding of impact startups, market analysis, conducting customer interviews, identifying and addressing root problems, developing business models, optimising products & pricing, developing GTM strategies and distribution networks and more.
