Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy told Congress ranks that the nexdt 100 days are important for them to gear up for the coming Lok Sabha elections. The LS polls are expected to be held in April -May 2024 as the present House has time till mid June. Revanth spoke at the Congress party’s 139th foundation day gala held in Nagpur, Maharashtra on December 28, Thursday. The entire Congress leadership heard Revanth’s speech.

Revanth stood out as an attraction on the dais at Nagpur and many leaders from others states greeted him on becoming CM of Telangana after recent assembly election. Besides him, scores of other party leaders and legislators too participated in the party event. Some public too were mobilised from Adilabad and Nizamabad districts. In a way, this meeting is launching of Congress campaign for the LS polls.

Modi, a medicine past expiry date

CM Revanth launched an attack on PM Modi saying he is like a medicine past its expiry date. “Modi is like a medicine after its expiry date and this will not work in coming LS elections. Even the slogan of double engine sarkar too will not work this time. Double engine means Adani and Modi. After Rahul Gandhi grilled Adani in Lok Sabha, that engine stopped working, now Modi engine too will stop, after Rahul starts his Bharat Nyay Yatra next month,” said the CM.

Revanth was echoing the optimism of Congress cadre and leaders on the effectiveness of Rahul’s Bharat Nyay Yatra from Manipur to Maharashtra early next year. If Bharat Jodo Yatra worked well for the party in Karnataka and Telangana states, the second phase of Yatra might yield dividends in parliamentary elections, they feel. Revanth too is well aware of his role in winning a maximum number of MPs from Telangana.

Revanth ridiculed PM Modi’s claims of making India stronger, saying some ordinary youth could barge into Lok Sabha chambers and create violence. “You couldn’t stop even an individual from entering parliament, how can you save our country?” asked the CM. At the same time Revanth asked Congress workers to be alert and work hard for the next 100 days for victory of Congress in LS elections. If can do it, we will hoist Congress flag on the Red Fort,” he said.
