Prime Minister Narendra Modi who came to launch about half a dozen developmental schemes at Adilabad was received by Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on March 4, Monday. In his welcome speech, Revanth Reddy called PM Modi  as “hamare bade Bhai” (elder brother).  Revanth went from Hyderabad to Adilabad to welcome the PM.  Revanth sought PM Modi’s support for development of Telangana.

This is the first time Modi came to Telangana after Congress came to power in Telangana. Revanth, along with Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka went to Delhi and called on the PM, but this is their first meeting in the state. When former CM KCR was in power, he stopped receiving PM Modi and used to deputy some ministers to do the job. Contrary to speculation, Congress CM Revanth is maintaining cordial relations with the PM.

On this Revanth said: “We want to maintain cordial relations with the Centre. We don’t want any confrontation with the Centre. For us, politics end with the elections. After that we only focus on development and welfare of our state and people”. Revanth was seen interacting with Modi on the dais.  Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, Union Minister Kishan Reddy too were there.

Revanth indirectly mentioned non-cooperative attitude of former CM KCR with the Centre. “Though Telangana was supposed to get about 4,000 MW of power as per the AP Bifurcation Act, we got only 1,600 MW, because of previous government’s confrontational attitude towards the Centre,” said Revanth. The CM wanted the PM’s support to make River Musi clean like Sabarmati River in Gujarat.

Modi” “Will cooperate with CM”

PM Modi too thanked CM Revanth for coming to receive him at Adilabad. “I Thank CM Revanth for taking his time out to come here. I assure that we together will work for the development of Telangana,” said Modi. Modi recalled that the Centre has done a lot in the last 10 years for the growth and development of Telangana. On March 4, the PM inaugurated six projects worth of Rs 6,000 crore.

140 crore Indians are my family”

Later, Modi addressed a meeting organised by BJP. He attacked “Parivarwadi parties” referring to both BRS and Congress and said these parties have only two things do – One, Jhoot lies) and another Loot (corruption). Modi said he left home at a young age for the sake of this country. “I have resolved to make realize your dream,” he said. He reeled out scores of developmental schemes he launched recently. Modi made people to chanti “Modi is my family”.
