Governor Jishnu Dev Varma hails ‘Raksha Bandhan’

Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma hailed the spirit of Raksha Bandhan, or Rakhi festival that unites people across the entire India. He participated in Raksha Bandhan celebrations organised at Shilaraman, Uppal, in Hyderabad on August 18, Sunday. The Governor who earlier worked as deputy CM of Tripura came to Telangana very recently. He complimented the way people of Telangana celebrate Rakhi.

The celebrations were organised by Suraksha Bharat and SG Foundation and were joined by Malkajgiri BJP MP Etela Rajender and SG Foundation founder chairman and senior BJP leader Sudhakar Gande, among others.  Around 2,000 people from different walks of life have participate in the Rakhi celebrations that include cultural programmes.

MP Rajender said that the tradition of Raksha Bandhan is vital to Indian cultural heritage that span across Akhand Bharat, up to Afghanistan to the vast regions of the South Asia. This festival fills unity and integrity among people also signifies the brother sister bonding dates back to centuries. The MP spoke of the need to preserve the great cultural richness of India.

Sudhakar Gande welcomed the dignitaries on to the dais and talked about the need to preserve Indian culture and traditions that are timeless but relevant to the present day society. “Raksha Bandhan Celebration event  held at Shilparamam, Uppal today went off very well.  Hon’ble Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma ji graced the event,” said Gande in a statement later.

Sudhakar, also said that Malkajgiri MP Etela Rajendar and M Surya Narayana Murthi among the other distinguished guests. It was a well attended  joyful event with active participation from BJP leaders, the public, and enthusiastic students thereby creating an atmosphere of unity and festivity.

“My heartfelt thanks to the Suraksha Bharat team for their exceptional organization of the event and to the SG Foundation for their invaluable support in making this event a grand success,” said Sudhakar Gande. All the people who gathered on the occasion participated in Rakhi festival by tying Raksha Bandhans.
