The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) is proud to announce the establishment of the “Dr Krishna Prasad Chigurupati Chair Professorship” in Process Automation, marking a significant milestone in advancing research and innovation in the field of industrial automation.
This distinguished Chair Professorship has been instituted through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on August 8, Friday, between IIT Hyderabad and Granules India Limited. As Granules’ CSR initiative, this collaboration aims to promote advanced research in process automation, a critical enabler of sustainability, efficiency, and industrial transformation in emerging and future-ready sectors, said a press release from IIT Hyderabad.
The Chair is named in honour of Dr Krishna Prasad Chigurupati, Chairman and Managing Director of Granules India Ltd., a visionary leader in India’s pharmaceutical and manufacturing industries. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Krishna Prasad remarked: “This initiative seeks to empower IITH faculty in leading the development of advanced technologies and promoting academic excellence.
By emphasizing process automation, we aim to address critical challenges and opportunities in industrial transformation, thereby reinforcing India’s role as a frontrunner in sustainable innovation.
