International Journalist Network of Europe (IJNE) will expand its activities across Asia and Africa in the coming months of this year. The media body which is dedicated to promote freedom of expression and free flow of information across the countries will strive to hold some events in India, preferably in the coming couple of months.

IJNEs President Bhuiyan Nurer Zaman had a meeting with its board to discuss upcoming activities, including a photo and art exhibition in Helsinki, Finland, in the upcoming months, before Christmas.

All board members were present at the meeting that was conducted at (IJNE) headquarters.   Hassan Blasim from Finland, Anurup Kanti Das & Editor of Snaps India Mohammed Shamsuddin & Syed Owais Quadri from India were among those present at the IJNE head office in Helsinki, on August 25.

Talking to Excel India, Shamsuddin said that IJNE would organize some meetings in India, most likely in Hyderabad, to cover more media persons and areas of media soon. “We will invite our IJNE president to India, along with some delegates from neighboring countries like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal etc,” said Shamsuddin.

Shamsuddin, who now runs Snaps India, a five decades old photo journalism agency in Hyderabad is currently on a European visit at the invitation of IJNE. More upcoming media persons would be involved in the network’s activities in the coming days.
