Minister KTR: 23 lakh jobs created in Telangana

Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao (KTR) has said that the State had so far created 23 lakh jobs since 2014, its formation. Of the every three jobs created in India, one is from Telangana, he said. This is possible because of proactive policies of KCR government in wooing industries and investments here for the last nine years, reminded KTR, who also looks after Municipal Administration department.  .

Speaking at a programme after taking part in the ground breaking ceremony of Foxconn Interconnect Technology’s electronics manufacturing facility at Kongara Kalan in Rangareddy district on May 15, Monday, Minister KT Rama Rao said the Telangana had been on progressive path in all the sectors for over the last nine years and the State’s IT sector stood at the second place India.

 

Skill Development Centres

KTR said the State government was planning to set up skill development centres for the creation of jobs to the youth and it was committed to create about 15 lakh jobs in the next 10 years in Telangana.

Stating that the proposed facility would serve as a hub for Foxconn Interconnect Technology’s operations in Telangana, allowing the expansion of its production capacity, the Minister said the Faxconn would invest  over 500 million US dollars and would create 25,000 direct jobs in the first phase.

“I am sincerely thankful to the entire Foxconn Group for their wonderful decision to set up Foxconn’s units in Telangana. Also, I am delighted to mention that we signed the MoU on March 2 and in about two and a half months, we are here today at the ground-breaking ceremony. The State government understands why we need to work at high speed.  Foxconn Group Chairman Young Liu called it Telangana speed. We shall live up to that reputation,” KTR pointed out.

On the occasion, the Minister assured that the State government would extend all the possible support to the Foxconn for their operations. Education Minister Sabitha,  Foxconn Interconnect Technology Chairman & CEO Sidney Lu and others were present.
