Telangana Municipal Administration and IT Minister KT Rama Rao (KTR) launched the jungle safari inside the Eco Tourism Park, on the outskirts of Mahabubnagar district headquarters. KTR took a ride in the vehicle arranged by the forest department that developed the park on an area of 12 acres.Tourism Minister Srinivas Goud, local MP Manne Srinivas Reddy and Mahabubnagar collector Ravi Naik were present.
KTR felt happiness to see the biggest urban eco tourism project in the country. He along with others watched the park from a watch tower. As the park is nearby Mahabubnagar town and surrounding areas, people can come and spend their time on weekends or holidays. “This is a memorable tour to me. Hope local people too enjoy this and make use of its natural environments,” said KTR on the occasion.
Peacocks park
This park, named as Mayuri Harita Vanam (Eco Park) is famous for a large number of peacocks. The park located between Mahabubnagar town and Jadcherla road is fully of bushy trees and rich flora. As Bontagattu hill range passes this area, the park is tucked in between scenic boulders. Started in 2017 as a nursery by the forest department, this park is built with a budget of around Rs 5 core.
There are timings for visitors, from 9.30 am to 6.30 pm. The ticket prices Rs 20 per each adult and Rs 10 per kid are affordable to all. As summer holidays are upon, people and youngsters are coming here in large numbers, not only from Mahabubnagar town, from far away places like Hyderabad city.
