Telangana Agriculture Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy unveiled the statue of Sri Konda Laxman Bapuji at Horticulture college, Mojerla on October 6, Friday.
“Sri Konda laxman bapuji is a great personality who stood till the end for the theory he believed in”, said Singireddy Niranjan Reddy, Minister for Agriculture, while unveiling the statue of Sri Konda Laxman Bapuji at College of Horticulture, Mojerla, Wanaparthy district on Friday. The minister paid rich tributes to the late leader who had inspired generations in Telangana region, according to a press release from the university.
Agriculture minister told that Laxman Bapuji is credited with playing a role in three generations of movements for India’s independence, against the Nizam’s rule, in the first and third generations. It was apt to name the horticulture varsity after him, reflecting the respects of the government to Konda Laxman Bapuji.
For posterity to remember, Govt. of Telangana honoured universities with famous names. Agricultural University is named after Acharya Jayashankar, Veterinary University is named after former Prime Minister PV Narsimharao and Horticultural University is named after Sri Konda Laxman Bapuji, Niranjan Reddy stressed on.
Erecting their statues is a fitting hand to perpetuate their names in history and carry their inspiration to posterity, Niranjan Reddy, told while addressing the gathering.
There are few great people in different fields of society, those nobles are the ones who show the way and stand as pioneers in the respective fields. not everyone can be a pioneer, not a great person, Minister added. “Konda Laxman Bapuji who resigned from the post of Minister for the cause of Telangana statehood,” Minister recollected.
