Rama Krishna Sangem
BRS Rajya Sabha MP J Santosh Kumar clicked a Sunbird and three other winged guests this Sunday – February 18. But for a small change – instead of posting these pics in the morning, this time he did in the evening. “Oops, my click must have gone birdwatching without me. A bit later than usual, but never too late for our weekly dose of my #photography moment,” he posted on X.
Still, his pics got 3,180 views, 157 likes by morning. We can understand his forgetfulness in the morning of this three years long habit of #weeklydoseofphotography this week. The week preceding Sunday, a political development took place – that Santosh will be completing his 6 year long Rajya Sabha membership by April first week. BRS supremo KCR renominated a sitting MP for the lone seat the party can win.
I don’t men, Santosh must have been distracted by this development, to post the pics in the evening, instead of morning. In fact, I appreciate his commitment to post even in the evening for his regular followers on X. It is this commitment we rarely see in politicians. One should continue her or his passion, irrespective of being in office – be it MP, MLA or minister – like Santosh.
Sunbird, beautiful & delicate
Sunbirds clicked by Santosh are delicate small bodied birds mostly seen in tropical countries. As they are beautiful with curved bill and colorful bodies, they are vulnerable to the pet trade. They belong to a large family of around 160 subspecies. They mostly thrive on nectar from flowers. The other three pics of birds Santosh posted on X this week too are of small passerine family, a delight to watch.
