BRS Rajya Sabha MP J Santosh Kumar this Sunday, May 7, posted Twitter an avian nest – a mother and two just born – in a wonderful angle. This black capped bird is feeding a fruit to its two tiny tots. The nest is perched on top of a tree with greenery. This is part of his #SundayPhotography activity to promote awareness among public about nature, environment and wildlife.
#Birds, titled as category, the four pics posted this week, are viewed by evening around 4,020 netizens, while 239 liked them, 49 retweeted. This is Santosh’s campaign to promote greenery and wildlife through his Green India Challenge (GIC). A week never passes a celebrity or a commoner planting a sapling on special days in their lives – right from birth days to anniversaries and college days.
Birds tell us about our environs
According to Mark Avery, a popular blogger and author who fights for survival of birds says, the presence of birds of all hues, tell us about our environs, under what kind of surroundings we live. He wrote many books and articles on birds indicate the health of our nature. They have a peculiar life systems and operate in particular ecology – quite parallel from us humans.
MP Santosh photos for the last few months underline the robust conducive atmosphere for birds of different kinds in a metro like Hyderabad, with over one crore population. Good to see many kinds, some bird watchers say, around 200 types, in and around our Hyderabad city. We can watch them in their natural habitats if we can spend some time to go out into nearby min-forest parks.
The latest one – Eco Tourism Park – with jungle safari, launched by Municipal Administration Minister KTR on the outskirts of Mahabubnagar town. Parents better take their kids there for taking photos. Of course, the children can post those pics on Twitter and tag them to MP Santosh too!
