MP Santosh urges women to join green challenge

BRS Rajya Sabha MP J Santosh Kumar on March 2, Thursday called upon women to join his Green India Challenge (GIC) campaign and plant more saplings. They can do this on the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8, he said. Santosh urged women to take up the cause of green and protect environment and nature for the sake of posterity and released a poster in Hyderabad to propagate the cause.

Telangana Education Minister P Sabita, Telangana Chief Secretary Santi Kumari, IAS and Telangana Ku Harita Haaram OSD Priyanka Vargheese were present with Santosh while launching the poster. Santosh has been focusing on spreading the green cause over the last 6 years, through his GIC, which saw participation of hundreds of celebrities and common people, particularly youth and students plant trees.

Speaking on the occasion, Santosh said: “Nature will flourish more if the same hands that raise children  plants the saplings. Santosh Kumar called upon women community to participate in the Green India Challenge and plant saplings and protect them with the same affection they shown on their children on World Women’s Day on March 8. Women can also motivate their children for the purpose.
Chief Secretary Santi Kumari wished that all women will participate in ‘Green India Challenge’ special programme and plant saplings for nature conservation. Moreover, she exhorted  all women employees to plant saplings in abundance on women’s day.
Minister Sabita Indra Reddy said that women are more powerful and they will successfully accomplish the tasks taken up by them. The minister  said that she will do her best to make every women and student participate in the ‘Green India Challenge’ Women’s Day special program.
“Women are working tirelessly for the conservation of the Earth while excelling in all fields” Chief Minister’s Secretary Smt Smita Sabharwal said. With the inspiration of Salumarada Thimmakka, she called upon every woman to plant a sapling  on International Women’s Day and make a big success  the Green India Challenge programme.

Priyanka Varghese said that the ‘Green India Challenge’ programme is a selfless programme embarked  for the benefit of the next generation. She suggested that every woman should be a partner of the ‘Green India Challenge.’ Varghese is one of the officials of Telangana who is actively spearheading the greenery cause in Telangana over the years.
