Telangana Governor and OU chancellor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan will be the chief guest at the convocation and VC Prof D Ravinder will lead and coordinate the event. In all, 1,024 scholars from different departments will get their PhDs at the convocation. “We are proud to present honorary doctorate to Shantanu Narayen, a student of our engineering college and who went on to start a global software giant in the US, said VC Prof Ravinder.
OU Registrar Prof P Lakshmi Narayana too expressed happiness over the varsity conferring honorary doctorate to Shantanu Narayen. “He is a globally recognized software industry leader and recipient of Government of India’s Padma Shree award. This doctorate will not just an honour to Narayen, but also an inspiration to many other students of our university and others,” Prof Lakshmi Narayana told “Excel India” on October 30, Monday.
While Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan will preside over the convocation, VC Prof Ravinder will present the university’s report on the occasion. Shantanu Narayen will deliver the convocation address which is expected to touch upon the current global IT, software and other trends.
