Andhra Pr;adesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh has said that political stability and policy consistency is essential for attracting investments and industries. Talking to media at Undavalli, a part of  Amaravati, capital region of the state on November 3, Monday, Lokesh expressed confidence that TDP led NDA government in AP will create around 20 lakh jobs to the youth.

Indirectly Lokesh took a dig at previous government led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy which scuttled the prospects of business growth in Andhra during its tenure from 2019 to 2024.

This 20 lakh jobs creation was a poll promises made by the ruling party before 2024 assembly elections. Lokesh held this media briefing to give a curtain raiser to the upcoming CII Investors Summit to be held in Visakhapatnam on November 15-16. The minister said that the government is hopeful of wooing around 120 billion US dollar worth investments in AP.

“We are expecting 300 business leaders from 45 countries are coming to the CII Summit and they are likely to sign 419 MoUs to bring investments,” he said. Lokesh outlined some of the big ticket investments announced by global giants like Google which is going to set up its data centre at Visakhapatnam, with around 15 billion US dollars, a game-changer project.

CM Naidu advantage

Lokesh talked of a speed of doing business policy by AP to attract more investments to the state. “Due to this approach of us, we are able to attract many big ticket domestic investments like Arcelor Mittal’s Rs 1.5 lakh core and NTPCs Rs 1.60 lakh crore recently. We have an advantage in the leadership of our CM Chandrababu Naidu in bringing businesses to AP,” said Lokesh.

Lokesh, only son of Naidu recalled how his father as the CM of combined Andhra Pradesh from 1995 to 2004, brought many big MNCs to Hyderabad and surrounding areas and launched many infrastructure projects like International Airport at Shamshabad and Genome Vally etc. “Even now he is working relentlessly for the growth of Andhra and met several times PM Modi to pursue the projects,” said Lokesh.
