Chennai based Space Kidz India (SKI) has achieved a remarkable milestone by unfurling the G20 flag near the edge of space, a gesture embodying unity, innovation, and progress. Building on last year’s feat of hoisting the Indian flag at 30 km altitude, this year carries special significance as India takes on the G20 Presidency. Srimathy Kesan is the founder CEO of SKI which encourages and involves students in space related activites.
This act is a poignant tribute from the space industry to the global community, underscoring the strength of collaboration and the boundless potential of exploration. This gesture on the part of SKI is sure to thrill all the G 20 countries as they gear up to come to New Delhi in the second week of September. US President Joe Biden, UK PM Rishi Sunak and China president Xi Jinping and many others are expected.
As the G20 flag ascends to the threshold of space, it symbolizes the shared dreams and hopes of nations uniting to address global challenges. As India spearheads this international effort, SKI is honored to contribute to this legacy, uplifting the G20 flag as a beacon of unity and aspiration.
Driven by an unwavering commitment to innovation and the empowerment of young minds, SKI recognizes that space exploration transcends borders, aligning with the G20’s mission to drive economic growth, sustainable development, and global solutions. This achievement reaffirms the interconnectedness of humanity, inviting the world to celebrate this extraordinary accomplishment and embrace a future fueled by cooperation and limitless possibility.
Talking to Excel India from Chennai, Srimathy Kesan expressed her joy over this G 20 flag being unfurled in the near space, at a time when ISRO’s Chandrayaan 3 is almost in the near orbit of the Moon. Flavour of the season seems to the Space and G 20. SKI combined these two with Indian Independence Day on August 15.
