The US India SME Council will be presenting it s first Incredible Inc awards for 2022 in a glittering function to be held in Bangalore on September 24.  The council with around 1,000 members from both the US and India from small and medium enterprises (SMEs) has conducted a similar awards function in Washington DC, US on June 9 and 10. As many as 50 SMEs were presented with the awards. A total 50 awards will be given at Bangalore too.

US-India SME Council CEO Elisha Pulivarty from Washington DC told  Excel India on August 7, Sunday that 25 each SMEs each from India and the US would be selected by a jury for the awards. Union Home Minister Amit Shah who also holds for the first time the Cooperation ministry at the Centre will be felicitated for his contribution to promote SMEs.

Union Tourism & Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy will be the chief guest at the Incredible Inc awards while Karnataka CM or some senior minister will be he guest of honour at the ceremony. “We plan to encourage fastest growing small and medium enterprises through the awards. We want to honour young entrepreneurs, both women and men, on the occasion,” said Pulivarty.

The US India SME Council was started in 2003 in Maryland, US and has emerged as an important think tank of small and medium enterprises from both the countries over the years. “Now we are focusing on skill development and offering other vital business related information for self-employed persons and small and medium ventures in US and India from different sectors,” said Elisha Pulivarty.

US-India SME Council founder Chairman Sudhakar Gande, from Bangalore said that the awards function would help bridge the gaps in cooperation for SMEs between both the countries. “Big companies may not have major problems, but we must fill the gaps for the small and medium enterprises,” said Sudhakar Gande.

“A jury of eminent persons will select the awardees,” said Sudhakar. SMEs from defence,  heath care, education, media and technology are contributing to US-India business, he said.

The role of SMEs in US-India trade is growing fast since recently as India’s exports to the western countries are going up. The shift in US trade policies from China to India also will benefit the small and medium ventures in a big way. The coming days will further enhance the business opportunities for SMEs.
