‘Devara: Part 1’: Crosses Rs 500 cr, may touch Rs 1k cr

One more movie from Tollywood with Pan India reach is going to make it big at the Box Office, with an estimated grossing around Rs 1,000 crore. . The movie Devara, a collaboration between NTR and Koratala Siva, has been doing exceptionally well at the box office. After the blockbuster success of Janatha Garage, this popular duo teamed up once again for Devara.

The film also marks the Tollywood debut of Janhvi Kapoor, daughter of the late actress Sridevi, as the lead heroine. Devara, which was released on September 27, continues to enjoy success thanks to strong audience support.

With impressive initial collections, the film is still performing well, earning significant shares at the box office. The Dussehra holidays have also worked to the movie’s advantage, boosting its earnings. NTR’s portrayal of dual roles as Devara and Var has been met with immense praise from both fans and viewers.

As of now, the makers have officially announced that the movie has grossed ₹509 crore worldwide in 16 days, releasing a poster to confirm the achievement. For Koratala Siva, who faced a setback with Acharya, Devara marks a strong comeback. The success of both films NTR and Koratala have worked on together has brought joy to NTR’s fans.

The music rollout began with the release of “Fear Song” on May 19, 2024, followed by “Chuttamalle” on August 5, “Daavudi” on September 4, and “Red Sea,” which premiered in the theatrical trailer on September 12. The fifth single, “Ayudha Pooja,” was released on September 26.

With its impressive production values and compelling storyline, “Devara” promises a visually stunning cinematic experience. Reports indicate that Netflix has acquired the digital distribution rights for ₹155 crore (US$19 million), further expanding the film’s global reach.

 

Story backdrop

Set in the 1980s and 1990s, “Devara” tells the riveting story of a brave man, Devara, who undertakes a dangerous sea voyage to defend his coastal community while facing betrayal by his brother, Bhaira. As the conflict escalates, Devara readies to pass his legacy to his reluctant son, Vara, unraveling a powerful narrative of family, betrayal, and courage.

 

Cast & Crew

The film features an outstanding cast, with Jr. NTR portraying dual roles and Saif Ali Khan as the antagonist, Bhaira. Janhvi Kapoor plays Thangam, joined by esteemed actors such as Prakash Raj, Srikanth, and Shine Tom Chacko. This impressive ensemble guarantees captivating performances that enhance the film’s overall allure.
