Ek Bharat, Shresta Bharat: Telangana journalists tour Haryana

A team of media persons from Telangana visited Gurugram in Haryana this week as part of the central government’s “Ek Bharat- Shresta Bharat” programme. This is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for Bharat Sankalp Yatra and Jan Samvad campaign. The team included journalists from different media outfits and organisations. The team is on a tour from January 8-11.

Receiving the delegation,   Gurugram assistant deputy commission Hitesh Kumar Meena explaiend the salient features of the campaign to invite  persons from different parts of the country as part of national integration and cultural exchange.  “the tours of people is to develop understanding about different parts of the country – states and union territories – among the people,” he said.

So far, around 38 lakh people have visited  Haryana and took a pledge to develop India a leading country. As many as 130 plus village panhayats of Gurugram district too conducted several events that included cultural, sports and others in the last few days. Haryana Chief Minister Manoharlal Khatta too emphasised the need to foster national integration through these kind of programmes.

Several officials of Haryana government and those of Press Information Bureau which organised the tour took part in the programme.  This is an opportunity to know about the administration and people’s lives of Haryana, said Yashoda, a senior media person who is part of the tour.
