Rama Krishna Sangem
BRS senior leader and former Rajya Sabha MP J Santosh Kumar charmed through his camera lens a pair of green vine snakes this Sunday, April 27. This beautiful green vine snakes thrive mostly on green tree branches, scouting for small insects, lizards etc for food. Posted on X this snake photos as part of Santosh’s #Sundayphotography, received as many as 890 views and close to 100 likes, reflecting his regular fan-base weekend pics.
What is noticeable is Santosh though busy with BRS party’s silver jubilee anniversary meeting in Warangal on Sunday spared time for his Sunday photographic commitment. This is a point our youngsters to remember – that they must not skip their time-tables however busy they can be. “Just captured the perfect moment, two green sankes palying on a vibrant green tree! Nature never ceases to amaze,” said he in his X post. Usually, Santosh snaps birds on Sundays, but this time he turned to snakes, though clung on to tree branches.
Green vine snakes
These green vine snakes are common in our surroundings, mostly bushy trees and courtyards. They are slender, weak, yet can spew venom, if faced with any threats. Still their venom is not lethal, though it can trouble us for a few hours and little longer than that. People generally don’t kill them like other dangerous snakes. These green vine snakes are seen during rainy or winter seasons, except in hot summers. It’s a sight to see these slim, slithery reptiles grab big size frogs etc, reminding us of a saying – bite more than one can chew!.
We can encourage our young adult s to take photos of these green snakes, as it is a challenge to spot them amid green and leafy tree branches.
