Noel Tata, 67, elevation as the chairman of Tata Trusts has left a question for all. Who is next in command of the 130 billion US dollars Tata empire? 38 year old Leah Tata is the clear face in the long line of successors of this legacy business house.  She is the elder daughter of Noel Tata. Leah, by known as an able business leader of India, is also a darling of late Ratan Tata.

After Ratan Tata death, the responsibility to carry forward his legacy falls on the shoulders of his nephew and nieces – Leah, Maya and Neville Tata. Now that Noel has been elevated as the chairman of Tata Trusts, all you need to know about Ratan Tata’s potential successors. Unlike Ratan, Noel has recognized the need to groom his children as business leaders and trained them right after their education.

Leah Tata is the eldest of the trio. She holds a master’s degree in Marketing from IE Business School in Madrid, Spain. Leah Tata started her career in the conglomerate in 2006. She was an assistant manager at Taj Hotels. She is now a VP at The Indian Hotels Company Limited, the group’s hospitality arm that runs several iconic hotels across the country. She had worked in several roles in the company before assuming the leadership role.

Like her sister Leah, Maya Tata is also highly educated, having completed her higher education at Bayes Business School and Warwick University. She also played a pivotal role in the launch of the group’s Tata Neu app. She has worked at Tata Digital as well.

Neville Tata began his career at the retail arm of the conglomerate, Trent. He is married to Manasi Kirloskar. He is leading a Tata group company named Star Bazaar.

Though it is too early to talk about the successor to Noel Tata as he is just 67 and will continue to lead the empire for several more years, people would be interested to know the line of next in command of the Tata family. Of course, focus will be on their ability to sustain the momentum brought in by Ratan since 1991.
