Most of those liked the pics felt the need to save our environment.

Santosh who launched Green India Challenge (GIC) five years ago chose be a member of the Parliamentary committee on nature, forests, ecology and climate change. His #SundayPhotograph too is part of creating awareness among public on the need to save nature. The GIC is inspired by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s call for promoting greenery through #TelanganaKuHaritahaaram.

Thousands of men and women, mostly youth responding to GIC, have participated in tree plantation programmes. As a result, Santosh recently got recognition from Limca Book of Records, for planting a record number of trees – 3.54 lakh – in an hour in Adilabad town in Telangana . Significant part of it is the drive  was participated by around 16,000 youth. He received the certificate from the hands of CM KCR.

Birds are barometers

Birds can be called barometers of nature around us. The four pics he tweeted today are of different species and different places. A couple of purple wood pigeons, commonly sighted in India are special – as they require protection from us. Thy mostly thrive on tree foliage and insects, said an birdwatcher from Hyderabad. Pics of parrots, black and white Pied India Myna tell us varied flora around us.
